La Nuita Américaine

It’s a pleasant when you don’t expect anything, and everything starts to happen.
Off course, Night, Movies, Cameras and America in the same moment can be a little more than a usually surprise.

It’s almost, almost suchlike my old dreams and desires:

Money flies in the air
Big lights, big cameras, big fluids
Complicated things are not complicated and simple things are really simple
And why not,
The director is an asshole, a star


@Money flies in the air
Ok, it was a simple movie, was not “Hollywood Baby”, but yes, everyone working and receiving good for what they do. Food, organization, cleaning, everyone looking happy and satisfied, things works and time is not a enemy, is just a fact –

@ Big lights, big cameras, big fluids,
I never saw that cameras before. Red Cams. They are computer cameras. Easy, and two shooting in the same time, just an ordinary action, just an ordinary plan. And all the good lights possible, big or not, decorating the scenery…

@ Complicated things are not complicated and simple things are really simple
Was very good saw this and felt this …but I have to say this, there’s something in a movie set that transform everybody in buddy movies, maybe this is not the correct word, but what i want to say is…everything happens because everything has to happens, need too happens. Make sense? Whatever, anyplace in the world, anytime, in a movie set, everything just happens. I think there’s some energy in the air, something magical, tacky, and more powerful than logical and all the people inside this bubble really gave them yourselves for this energy.

And why not…

@The director is complicated, a star
I think this a chapter a part. But yes, all directors are assholes; they really think they are stars…
There’s many types,
The Frustrated-Genius,
The Repressed-elegant-Gay,
The Quiet-Master-Genius,
The I’m Good-Looking,
The Funny-Gay-Friendly
The Rebel-Genius or Depressed-Genius,
The Humble-Shy-Genius,
The Poor-Humble,
And
The Bossy-Know-Everything….

So...He didn’t anything against with me, he just screamed and stormed with everyone for any bulshit, its okay for me, I just didn’t lost time trying steal something good for him, because yes, all the time in a set, I always try steals something for me use in a future, good actions, good moves, why not? But this guy was crappy! And its sad see someone losing time being mad when he have everything on hands…So…But was fun see and confirm my poor theory about these directors!! (Someday I’ll write here more for these types…)
But you know what? Maybe he was right. Directors are asshole characters in general.

It was a memorable night. I think make a movie is a very hard process, massive, hard, really hard stuff. Demands time, energy, is a really really hard job. But was good see the process, the energy and see the similarities with my home country. See there are good people; see the energy, the big fluids. See the simplicity in the process.
Hope more moments like this come to me again, not so soon.

…And hope wears my asshole costume soon too!
